IPC Windows, Plastics and Glass strongly believe that the existing soffit and fascia boards should be fully removed prior to the installation of any new PVCU boards.

It is very common that the timber fascia boards will have some degree of rot, usually on the top edge. This is normally caused either by gutter splash or by water being blown onto the board from behind th gutter. It is difficult to determine and see the rot from ground level. Regular painting of timber fascia boards will offer protection from rot however most homeowners and only paint up to the guttering - not above it.
